New York City, 23 September 2026 - At the United Nations Headquarters during the 81st Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 81), PVBLIC Foundation and Geosat announced a strategic partnership via the SDG Data Alliance to equip and enable Small Island Developing States (SIDS) with access to the latest satellite Earth Observation data and actionable geospatial products.

The Implementing Partnership Agreement was signed by Sergio Fernández de Córdova, Executive Chairman of PVBLIC Foundation and Francisco Vilhena da Cunha, CEO of Geosat at the SDG Data Alliance-led convening, “Mobilizing Data, Technology and Partnerships for Impact,” in the SDG Media Zone on 23 September 2026. Joined by senior government leaders, regional and international leaders, and industry partners, the event highlighted how data, technology, and strategic partnerships can accelerate resilient development for SIDS and developing nations, especially through the SIDS Global Data Hub.

Combining Geosat’s Earth Observation satellite constellation and technical expertise, the SDG Data Alliance’s vast knowledge of SIDS, and PVBLIC’s partner network in media, data, and technology for sustainable development; this partnership framework offers cooperation and collaboration to catalyze action for SIDS, and with SIDS.

“Small Island Developing States need the capacity to see, understand, and make decisions about their own territories. This partnership connects Geosat’s Earth Observation capabilities with the SIDS Global Data Hub so governments can turn satellite information into practical decisions about natural assets, infrastructure, and resilient development. Our measure of success is whether that capability takes root within the countries themselves,” said Sergio Fernández de Córdova, Executive Chairman of PVBLIC Foundation.

The objectives of this partnership put a spotlight on deploying targeted pilots, expanding capacity building and decision-making, establishing data acquisition frameworks, and reducing the financial barriers to attain much-needed high resolution data. SIDS will in turn use targeted satellite imagery and information to better understand the condition of their territories, tackle development challenges, determine mitigation and adaptation options, and use these insights for evidence-based decision-making for a more sustainable, resilient future.

"Geosat is bringing to the table its technical expertise in Earth Observation and experience in capacity-building to join forces with the PVBLIC Foundation and the SDG Data Alliance to support Small Island Developing States. Our aim is to ensure that Earth Observation supports the development and resilience goals defined at a national level, and that the benefits of space technology reach the communities that need them most.” explains Mr. Francisco Vilhena da Cunha, CEO of Geosat.

“The SDG Data Alliance was founded with a vision to harness and deliver geographic information systems (GIS) technology, data, capabilities, resources and training, especially for Small Island Developing States. We look forward to working with Geosat to make tools that have transformative and visionary potential to better serve island communities,” shared Dr. Greg Scott, Executive Director of the SDG Data Alliance in PVBLIC Foundation.

Through measurable insights and data, global and regional convenings to exchange expertise and experiences, and access to high-resolution satellite imagery, the mutual goals of Geosat, PVBLIC, and SDG Data Alliance will continue their work beyond UNGA, reaching national and local stakeholders who will have a life-changing opportunity: data that explains the present and helps us plan for the future.

I really enjoy Dinosaur Game because it is simple but surprisingly addictive. The controls are easy to understand, yet getting a high score takes good timing and concentration. It is perfect when I want a quick game without learning complicated rules.
