NEW YORK CITY, 25 September - During the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, PVBLIC Foundation and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) signed a strategic memorandum of understanding that was announced at the Family Offices for Sustainable Development (FOSD) Summit on 23 September 2026. The agreement is built on a common goal to address the unique challenges faced by Small Island Developing States, through innovations in geospatial data, regional cooperation, financing, and other solutions.
This partnership will enhance regional support and activities that align with the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS), a 10-year framework adopted at the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) in May 2024, as well as other relevant frameworks, including the United Nations Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (UN-IGIF).
The Eastern Caribbean has an extraordinary opportunity to demonstrate what becomes possible when countries build together at regional scale. This partnership with the OECS is about putting world-class data, technology and partnerships into the hands of governments, strengthening their ability to understand their territories, value their natural assets and make sovereign decisions about their future.
Through the SIDS Global Data Hub, we are building the infrastructure to move from data to decisions, and from decisions to investment and implementation. Most importantly, this is being built with SIDS, for SIDS, with island states leading the way,” said Sergio Fernández de Córdova, Executive Chairman of PVBLIC Foundation.
The SDG Data Alliance, the SIDS Global Data Hub, and other PVBLIC-supported initiatives are positioned to merge technology and data with resilience, adaptation, and evidence-based decision-making. The data hubs offer approaches that connect global, regional, national, and local data resources in support of SIDS priorities.
“Small states rarely lack data; too often it is in the wrong place, the wrong format, or too late for decisions. This partnership builds a shared architecture for climate risk, ocean governance, mobility and finance. Our principle is national ownership at regional scale: each Member State governs its own data, while together we achieve what none can afford alone,” said Dr. Didacus Jules, Director General of the OECS.
The signing at the FOSD Summit underscores the significance of joint action in responding to specific development needs, vulnerabilities, and opportunities of SIDS. With this shared mission to strengthen regional and country-owned data systems across the Caribbean, we can advance progress through geospatial information systems, interoperable digital infrastructure, dashboards, mapping tools and other resources designed to translate data into actionable insights for governments and institutions.
The collaboration represents a broader commitment by PVBLIC Foundation and SDG Data Alliance, and the OECS to build the partnerships and infrastructure needed to move from ambition to implementation. By connecting regional institutions and governments with data, technology, expertise and global partners, the organizations will work to create stronger pathways, that place the stewardship of data by SIDS and for SIDS at the center.

This was a good read. I found the information useful and easy to follow. I also stumbled upon CroreBet while browsing different websites. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I played Block Blast while waiting for a blacksmith to finish fitting a new hinge to an old wooden gate. He swung the gate open and closed to check that it no longer scraped the ground.
