PVBLIC’s Contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 17

By: Shuchi Kalra, July 27th, 2022

The Sustainable Development Goals are a universal call to action to improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere on this planet. Sustainable Development Goal 17 is about "partnerships for the goals." and it aims to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development. A successful development agenda requires inclusive partnerships — at the global, regional, national and local levels — built upon principles and values, and upon a shared vision and shared goals placing people and the planet at the center.

Multi-stakeholder partnerships will be crucial to leverage the inter-linkages between the

Sustainable Development Goals to enhance their effectiveness and impact and accelerate progress in achieving the SDGs. How can we ensure the resources needed are effectively mobilized and monitored? This will be primarily the responsibility of countries. Reviews of progress will need to be undertaken regularly in each country, involving civil society, business and representatives of various interest groups.

At PVBLIC Foundation, a lot of the work that we do relies on partnerships between all sectors in order to advance our mission to engage global change-makers and mobilize action to advance sustainable development. Some of the key areas where PVBLIC brings its expertise are the following:

  • Program Management Bringing together networks and creating partnerships between public and private sectors, PVBLIC manages key impact programs like the SDG Media Zone, Family Office for Sustainable Development, Latino Impact Alliance and the SDG Data Alliance. Details are mentioned at the end.

  • Events PVBLIC organizes events that not only bring valuable information to our audience but also create lasting partnerships between sectors in order to advance the sustainable development agenda.

  • Media Campaigns PVBLIC advises communications teams and media initiatives and works with partners to place and amplify social impact advertising campaigns.

  • Strategic Funds PVBLIC creates and manages strategic donor-advised funds designed to support impact programs.

Key Programs by PVBLIC:

W.K Kellogg Foundation, Esri, UN, and PVBLIC Foundation formed a new data alliance to build capacity to achieve the SDGs with people, technology and process.

The SDG Data Alliance is a community-driven partnership whose work is grounded on the belief that data is a human right and that reducing inequalities of all kinds is fundamental to achieving the SDGs.

Organized by the UN Department of Global Communications, in collaboration with the PVBLIC Foundation, the SDG Media Zone takes the conversation on advancing the 2030 Agenda out of the policy sphere and into the public discourse through impactful in-depth interviews and conversations on global issues that matter to people everywhere.

FOSD is a program managed by PVBLIC Foundation and the UN Office for Partnerships which connects with small groups of global prime-mover Family Offices committed to advancing the SDGs. Engaging Family Offices to help advance the completion of the Sustainable development goals with a specific focus on pandemics, climate change, and biodiversity.

Transforming Education Donor Fund aims to combine art, sports and technology in order to promote culture through education, bringing together global agendas and empathy among humans to build a better tomorrow, starting with our youth.

The Transforming Education Donor Fund is governed by two established organizations: Scholas Occurrentes Foundation & PVBLIC Foundation.

PVBLIC has been able to work on monumental projects and campaigns thanks to our focus on SDG 17. Collaborating with partners from all sectors who are working to advance the 2030 agenda allows us to have a larger impact and reach a global audience. The SDGs remain the framework for building back better and can only be achieved through strong global partnerships and cooperation. We need everyone to come together—governments, civil society, scientists, academia and the private sector. The Agenda, with its 17 goals, is universal and calls for action by all countries, both developed countries and developing countries, to ensure no one is left behind.
