February 27, 2025 – Pro Mujer, a social enterprise with 35 years of experience advancing gender equality, and PVBLIC Foundation, a nonprofit organization that mobilizes media, data, and technology for sustainable development and social impact worldwide, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen gender equality in Latin America and advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Gender-Lens Investing.
Currently, progress toward the SDGs is alarmingly slow: only 17% of the 169 targets associated with these goals are on track to be achieved. This reflects a world with persistent gaps that hinder women's development. The feminization of poverty, labor precarization, and the lack of access to financing and opportunities continue to limit their economic and social growth.
The alliance between Pro Mujer and PVBLIC Foundation aims to transform these realities and promote a more equitable and prosperous future in the region. This agreement focuses on fostering impact investment, entrepreneurship, and gender equality through various strategies and actions.
According to Carmen Correa, CEO of Pro Mujer, "This alliance represents a great opportunity to strengthen the gender-lens investing ecosystem in Latin America. We firmly believe that peer collaboration is key to generating lasting impact and transforming the lives of millions of women in the region."
Meanwhile, Sergio Fernández de Córdova, Executive Chairman of PVBLIC Foundation in Latin America, stated, "Our collaboration with Pro Mujer reflects our commitment to promoting gender equality and sustainable development. Together, we will drive concrete actions that will enable more women to access greater opportunities."
This partnership reinforces the shared belief of both organizations that only through strategic alliances and collective efforts can gender gaps be closed and more inclusive societies be built—demonstrating that when women thrive, the entire region advances.
