Jayathma Wickramanayake, United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth, at the SDG Media Zone UNGA: 74
Save the Date! After three years of remote conversations for the United Nations General Assembly, the SDG Media Zone will once again return in-person to the United Nations Headquarters for the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from September 18 - 22, 2023.
Since 2016, the SDG Media Zone has been one of the core features of major events at the United Nations, including the UN General Assembly high-level week, the UN Youth Forum and the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. It brings together world leaders, influencers, activists, experts, content creators, and media partners to highlight actions and solutions in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. Organized by the UN Department of Global Communications, in collaboration with the PVBLIC Foundation, the SDG Media Zone provides a platform for world leaders, influencers, activists, experts, content creators and media partners to highlight actions and solutions in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.
This year, the SDG Media Zone convened at the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) and made a triumphant return to the United Nations Headquarters in New York for the UN Water Conference, which took place from March 22-24 to raise awareness of the global water crisis and decide on concerted action to achieve the internationally agreed water-related goals and targets. At the SDG Media Zone, participants discussed transformations and solutions needed to achieve SDG 6 and how the global community is accelerating progress towards this goal.
