PVBLIC Forms New Alliance in Support of UN Women's Movement to End Gender Based Violence

PVBLIC Foundation and Cisneros Media form a new alliance to increase awareness on the UN Women's movement to end gender based violence in Latin America and the Caribbean.

NEW YORK, USA, November 30, 2021. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) globally, an estimated 736 million women—almost one in three—have been subjected to intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both at least once in their life. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, emerging data and reports have shown that all types of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, has intensified. As COVID-19 cases continue to strain health services, essential services, such as domestic violence shelters, have reached capacity.

Consequently, we are happy to announce that PVBLIC Foundation is partnering with Cisneros Media to mobilize our media partnerships and communications strategies to support the movement to end gender based violence in Latin America and the Caribbean led by UN Women.

"We think a lot about how we can use media, data, and technology to promote well-being around the world and we are honored to align with Cisneros to promote this important cause of ending gender-based violence in the region and helping to increase the message penetration and awareness in the general population about this issue in Latin America and the Caribbean" - Stephen Keppel, President of the PVBLIC Foundation.

November 25th was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and kicked off the annual international campaign, 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. From November 25th- December 10, 2021 UN Women will be sharing facts and resources to help end gender based violence. PVBLIC Foundation in alliance with Cisneros Media will amplify UN Women’s messaging and increase awareness of resources available in the region.

“Given our commitment at Cisneros to contribute to gender equality through our companies’ social impact initiatives, we are excited to join efforts with PVBLIC Foundation and invite others to join us as we continue to harness our communications platforms to raise awareness on the need to end violence against women and make a call to action for each of us to play our part as individuals and organizations” - Maria Ignacia Arcaya, SVP of Social Impact & Institutional Relations at Cisneros.

Be sure to follow PVBLIC and Cisneros on social media to stay up to date with messages from UN Women and resources to help end gender based violence in the region.
