Only weeks after its September launch in Copenhagen, Family Offices for Sustainable Development (FOSD) Nordic made a strong international debut during the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) in New York.

A High-Level Nordic Delegation

A 12-member delegation of Nordic government leaders, family office principals, and private-sector partners joined PVBLIC Foundation for a week of high-impact events, including:

  • PVBLIC Partnerships Day – showcasing breakthrough collaborations across data, technology, and climate.

  • FOSD Summit & Reception – the flagship gathering of global family offices for sustainable development.

  • Health Equity Forum – advancing cross-sector solutions for global health challenges.

  • SIDS Data Reception – strengthening data partnerships for Small Island Developing States.

  • Iberoamerican Impact Summit – connecting Latin American and Caribbean impact leaders with global investors.

Nordic Leadership on Display

At the FOSD Summit, Elsebeth Søndergaard, State Secretary for Development Cooperation of Denmark, delivered keynote remarks highlighting the importance of global cooperation and outlining Denmark’s role in mobilizing action on sustainable economic development, underscoring the strong policy alignment between Nordic governments and the FOSD mission.

H.E. Mr. Ole Thonke, the Danish Climate Ambassador, also participated in the SIDS Solutions for Resilient Prosperity event that was co-hosted by PVBLIC, President Surangel Whipps Jr. of Palau and Chair of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) and Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda.

Strategic Connections

Michael Bühlmann, CEO of Rosetree Financial Services, PVBLIC’s FOSD Nordic partner, engaged with program leaders from the SDG Data Alliance, REIN Hubs, and Fashion Impact Fund, as well as UN representatives and government officials from Small Island Developing States. These conversations are already sparking new avenues for collaboration across climate resilience, entrepreneurship, and sustainable fashion.

“It is so important to follow up ideas with action. We announced the launch of FOSD Nordic in Copenhagen in early September and just a few weeks later we’re here in New York with an important delegation of Nordic leaders, engaging at the highest levels of the multilateral system, discussing solutions and putting the pieces in place for large-scale impact,” Michael shared.

From Copenhagen to New York—and Back Again

This successful UNGA presence was a powerful follow-up to FOSD Nordic’s early-September launch in Copenhagen, demonstrating how quickly the hub is becoming a bridge between Nordic capital and global sustainable development.

Next Stop: Copenhagen, October 7

The momentum continues: FOSD Nordic will host its next engagement in Copenhagen on October 7, deepening partnerships and turning UNGA connections into concrete action.
