Mobilizing Data, Technology and Partnerships for Impact
A breakfast convening curated by
the SDG Data Alliance
September 23, 2026
United Nations Headquarters, New York
During the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81)

About the Convening
Mobilizing Data, Technology and Partnerships for Impact is a breakfast convening curated by PVBLIC Foundation's flagship program, the SDG Data Alliance, taking place during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The convening brings together senior leaders from across sectors to explore how data, technology, and strategic partnerships can accelerate resilient development for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and developing nations.

About the SDG Data Alliance
The SDG Data Alliance is a global, multi-stakeholder partnership that brings together governments, United Nations organizations, the private sector, foundations, and technology leaders to strengthen national data systems and advance sustainable development through geospatial innovation and data-driven decision-making.
Who We Are
An open, multi-stakeholder partnership of governments, UN agencies, the private sector, and foundations.
Our Vision
Governments harnessing people, data, and technology to achieve their national development priorities and the SDGs.
Our Mission
Building government capacity through data systems, global frameworks, geospatial technology, and skills development.
Our Journey
2017
FIS4SDGs lays the groundwork for a global data-capacity model.
2021
The SDG Data Alliance formally launches.
2023
Partnership with AOSIS and Antigua and Barbuda to develop a SIDS Global Data Hub.
2024
Work advances at SIDS4 to help implement the ABAS.
2026
Virtual launch of the SIDS Global Data Hub.
Why Data Matters for Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
Small Island States continue to face the adverse impacts of environmental shocks, inequality, limited resources, vulnerability to external shocks, and institutional challenges that constrain national development and deepen data capacity and fragmentation vulnerabilities linked to geographic remoteness.
Unlocking trusted, timely, and interoperable data, especially geospatial and Earth observation data, is essential for development. It is the foundation for:
-
Informed, evidence-based policies
-
Risk-informed decision-making
-
Disaster preparedness and climate resilience
-
Coastal management and blue-economy planning
-
Sustainable infrastructure delivery

The SIDS Global Data Hub and Country Data Hubs
The convening will showcase the development of the SIDS Global Data Hub as a key pillar of the SIDS Centre of Excellence, and a growing network of Country Data Hubs across the Caribbean, Pacific, and AIS regions. It will further highlight the Alliance's work and vision to ensure all SIDS have access to the data, technology, tools, solutions, and expertise needed to:
Make informed decisions
Track progress on the ABAS and the SDGs
Monitor national priorities
Accelerate the achievement of resilient prosperity
Discussion Themes
Participants will engage in discussions on:
Fostering the partnerships and investments needed to build a connected global data ecosystem that supports evidence-based decision-making and long-term resilience for SIDS
Expanding access to geospatial technologies
Mobilizing and strengthening national data foundations and capacity
Event Partners

From Data to Resilient Prosperity
Through the SIDS Global Data Hub and its network of Country Data Hubs, the SDG Data Alliance is building the data foundation SIDS need to achieve resilient prosperity. Mobilizing Data, Technology and Partnerships for Impact brings that work into the room.
