Fashion Impact Fund Reception Unites Leaders and Highlights Sustainable Fashion Progress

In Miami on April 11th, the Fashion Impact Fund, a program of the PVBLIC Foundation, organized a reception at the residence of the British Consul General. The convening brought together influential figures from the fashion, business, and sustainability sectors to celebrate advancements in sustainable fashion, particularly in the realm of climate action.


The Fashion Impact Fund, showcased its commitment to supporting fashion skills training programs led by women, with a focus on education, employment, and economic inclusion.  The fund's multifaceted mission aims to advance women’s financial independence, combat poverty, discrimination and gender-based violence, and promote positive change within the fashion industry. By investing in fashion workforce development solutions for women, the Fashion Impact Fund can create lasting and  transformative impact on their lives, communities, and the sector globally.

Supported by Avery Dennison, the reception fostered collaboration, showcased innovation, and drove positive change in the fashion industry by facilitating meaningful connections between leaders, investors, and advocates.

Rufus Drabble, British Consul General in Miami, thanked guests for their passion and dedication to the environment and sustainability. He also emphasized the need for collaboration and partnerships to advance sustainable development. “Talking to many of you in this room it is clear how passionate you are about the environment and sustainability. I encourage you all to network and learn how you can work together to drive positive change,” said the British Consul General during his remarks.

Kerry Bannigan, Managing Director and President of the Board of Directors of  PVBLIC Foundation, highlighted the role of initiatives like the Fashion Impact Fund in fostering ties between the USA and the UK, promoting shared growth and innovation. "In a $2.4 trillion-dollar fashion industry, we hold significant power and responsibility. Despite its status as one of the world's largest polluters, the fashion industry can also serve as a formidable vehicle for change", remarked Kerry during her speech.

Stephen Keppel, President of PVBLIC Foundation, announced the upcoming launch of Climate Week Miami, scheduled for April 22-29. The event, hosted by CC35 in collaboration with Miami-Dade County, PVBLIC Foundation, and partners, aims to drive awareness and action towards a sustainable future.

 

In conclusion, the event underscored the ongoing commitment to creating a future where both women and the environment thrive.
