October 2014 - Launch of the It’s On Us Campaign

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden officially launched the “It’s On Us” campaign at a ceremony last Friday at the White House as a critical step forward in the Administration’s multipronged approach to combat sexual assault that includes improved enforcement of federal laws and practical help for schools. "Sexual violence isn’t just a crime", said Mr. Obama, "It is a civil rights violation." The campaign, being launched in partnership with Generation Progress, will complement efforts schools should be undertaking to hold perpetrators accountable and assist students who have experienced sexual assault.

As strategic media outreach partner for "It’s On Us", PVBLIC reached out to the award-winning advertising agency Mekanism to develop the campaign's concept, creative and design and aggregated in-kind donations from leading media companies totaling over 1 billion media impressions nationwide.

September 2014 - Media Rise Pitch Night

The PVBLIC foundation along with other sponsors such as HUGE Inc. and Newsweek supported a $1000 prize and a full page ad in Newsweek to one of 11 social changes pitches. The winning team was SWAT (Safety with Accountability & Transparency).

September 2014 - Legacy Project Dinner

PVBLIC Foundation hosted the Legacy Project Dinner, an exclusive ceremony held in NYC during UN Week. PVBLIC partnered with the U.S. Dream Academy and PVBLIC Chairman and Co-Founder Sergio Fernandez de Cordova (add accents) awarded the Legacy Award to former president George W. Bush. On hand to witness the award was Kansas City Chiefs Legend Tony Richardson, the Former President of Malawi Joyce Banda and Former Consul General of Australia and PVBLIC Foundation Global Advisor Phil Scanlon.

April 2014 – Media for Social Impact Summit

PVBLIC Foundation teamed up with the United Nations Office for Partnerships to host the first ever Media for Social Impact Summit. At the summit The Dove Campaign for Real Beauty celebrated its 10th anniversary, Steve Gleason, of the New Orleans Saints, showcased his Microsoft Empowering Campaign which ran during the Super Bowl, and Adrian Grenier presented SHFT.com, a lifestyle platform.

May 2014 – Ohio State University’s Andrew Zuk Joins PVBLIC Foundation

Participating in Ohio State University’s Washington Academic Internship Program, Andrew Zuk joined PVBLIC Foundation as an intern through July 2014.

May 2014- Partnership With Joe Biden For Sexual Assault Campaign

The White House created the first initiative to address sexual assault on college campuses. With the help of PVBLIC Foundation and Mekanism Creative Advertising Agency a media campaign is being carefully crafted for this coming fall.

February 2014 – Atlas Corps Fellow Taha Sharif Joins PVBLIC Foundation

PVBLIC Foundation teamed up with Atlas Corps to bring on the help of Taha Sharif. Taha worked as PVBLIC’s IT and Graphic Design Manager bringing great expertise and experience in a fellowship lasting through July 2014.

February 2014 - Media 4 Social Impact Summit Dates Announced

January 2014 - Media Grant Pitch Night

On January 28th PVBLIC hosted the first ever "Pitch Night" in Washington, DC featuring a social media strategy seminar from award-winning experts at SPARK Experience. 15 Non-Profits made 4 minutes pitches for the chance to win $100,000 media grant and the prize went to the DC Rape Crisis Center.

January 2014 - 3 x $100,000 Grants Awarded at Sundance Film Festival

PVBLIC Foundation awarded three documentaries with $100,000 media grants at the Social Impact Film Dinner at The Collective at Sundance. The winning films were Beyond Right & Wrong, Food Chains and Fed Up.

November 2013 - In-Kind Grant of Disney on Ice for #GivingTuesday

PVBLIC Foundation is excited to collaborate with The Cross River Network to donate a box suite for "Disney on Ice" at the Prudential Center in New Jersey to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson & Union Counties in honor of #GivingTuesday.

October 2013 - $1MM Grant "Jackpot" Awarded Thru Urgency Network

PVBLIC Foundation is proud to partner with Urgency Network, an online platform that rewards users with larger than life opportunities for contributing to social causes, to award their first "Jackpot" of $1,000,000 in media to be split between Carbon Warroom, Greenpeace Foundation & Make Yourself Foundation.

September 2013 - $1MM Grant Awarded at Global Citizen Festival

PVBLIC Foundation held an online 72-Hr media grant competition in partnership with Global Citizen Festival where non-profits competed for a $1,000,000 media grant. Thousands of people voted and Somaly Mam was announced as the winner live on stage during the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park.

September 2013 - "Drink Up" Launch with First Lady

PVBLIC Foundation was in Watertown, WI with First Lady Michelle Obama on September 12th to announce her new initiative, "Drink Up". PVBLIC aggregated nearly one billion media impressions for the campaign and was honored to be recognized by the First Lady in her remarks at the Drink Up launch.

August 2013 - Buried Life Contest Winner Receives Bionic Arm

PVBLIC partnered with the Buried Life on online contest to "Cross Something Off Your Bucket List". The campaign goal was to increase viewership for live stream of Invisible Children's "Fourth Estate Summit" where the winner was announced. The winner was an amputee who was surprised with a bionic arm!

July 2013 - $100K Grant Contest at "Social Media 4 Non-Profits"

PVBLIC Foundation held a media grant competition at the "Social Media 4 Non-Profits Conference in Washington, DC where non-profits competed for a $100,000 media grant. Nearly 50 non-profits were nominated and the winning organization whose nominated received the most re-tweets was DC Scores.

July 2013 - Private DC Screening of "Girl Rising"

PVBLIC Foundation is teaming up with World Learning and Girl Up to host a private screening of the Girl Rising on July 17th in Washington DC featuring remarks from the leadership of Girl Up.

May 2013 - Hosting Atlas Corps Fellows

PVBLIC Foundation is honored to host two Atlas Corps Fellows from Sudan at our offices in Washington, DC. Yathrib Elzein, who will serve as our Grants Manager, and Souad Alfaki, who will serve as our Communications & Events Officer. Scott Beale, founder and CEO of Atlas Corps shared, "Our partnership with PVBLIC will strengthen our network and inspire new relationships throughout the global nonprofit sector."

May 2013 - 3 x $1,000,000 Grants Awarded at SALT Conference

PVBLIC Foundation held a media grant competition at the SALT Conference in Las Vegas where non-profits competed for a $1,000,000 media grant. Nearly 100 non-profits were nominated and the top 3 organizations whose nomination photos received the most re-tweets each were granted $1,000,000 in media.

April 2013 - Private LA Screening of "Girl Rising"

PVBLIC Founding Chair of Music, Anjula Acharia-Bath, co-hosted a private screening of Girl Rising in Los Angeles with Jimmy Lovine and Troy Carter featuring remarks by Priyanka Chopra and Girl Up Director Melissa Hillebrenner.

March 2013 - Private NYC Screening of "Girl Rising"

PVBLIC Foundation hosted a private screening of Girl Rising on at the Tribeca Grand Hotel featuring remarks by Kayce Jennings, Producer of Girl Rising and Melissa Hillebrenner, Director of United Nations Foundation' Girl Up Program.

January 2013 - $100K Grant at Sundance Film Festival

PVBLIC Foundation awarded the documentary Girl Rising with a $100k media grant at the Sundance Film Festival to help bring screenings of the film to all 50 states.

November 2012 - $200K in #GivingTuesday Grants

PVBLIC Foundation made two $100k media grants to Pencils of Promise and Maiden Nation to advance awareness about their campaigns as part of #GivingTuesday
